A Voice of the Next Generation: Edward Kim

August 25, 2016

Edward Sarang Kim was a Summer 2015 ISAAC intern at First AME Church LA.

Just recently, I started my semester at Claremont School of Theology for a Master in Divinity Interfaith Chaplaincy. I am comfortably enjoying my time there as I get to meet all various characters from very different contexts. Much of what I was exposed to and learned in the course of FTE/ISAAC’s Summer 2015 Internship comes into fruition as it becomes apparent that the attitude of honoring one’s culture and narrative was developed in me through the program. Furthermore, the importance of diversity in terms of spiritual practices, beliefs, race, and language is found to be more and more emphasized in my studies. FTE and ISAAC began this journey for me as I now see in hindsight that the internship program had provided mature and intellectual lenses to decipher and navigate through these times.
