AArt & Faith 2012

Traditionally, Christian faith practice has relied heavily upon verbal expression. However, with the digital revolution, the mode of communication has shifted to multi-sensory expression. Evidence of this can be seen as visual art and images cover the pages of Facebook, and more and more people find themselves swept along by the changing medium of communication. Over thirty-five years ago, Masao Takenaka stated, “Asian Christian art does not need to be invented, but rather the artists need to be discovered.” The same can be said today of Asian American Christian artists. Just as Bezalel and Oholiab were gifted by the Spirit to make artistic designs for the tabernacle, Asian American artists of faith are led by the Spirit to express a vision for the “healing of memories.” AArt & Faith provides a venue for people to connect to the divine healing art of God, the ultimate artist.
